Norwegian Refugee Council - NRCLogin to Send MessageThe Norwegian Refugee Council is hiring an Emergency Response Technical agent for Mueda in Cabo Delgado. Job Description» Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures; » Responsible to implement delegated technical portfolio of emergency projects (need assessments with protection focus, survival kit distribution, etc) as delegated from Project Coordinator in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality; » Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities; » Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key expertise to adjuncts; » Promote the rights of IDPs in line with the advocacy strategy; » Strengthen NRC's protection response in Mueda and neighbouring districts. Responsibilities» Support humanitarian surveillance activities by building networks of informants, document information and share Information technology according to standard operating procedures of the Rapid Response Mechanism; » Providing technical support and leadership abilities to partners and communities implementing Emergency Response activities. This includes ensuring compliance with significant minimum standards and collaborative engagement with the technical team in developing minimum technical standards, SOPs and guidance; » Conduct community engagement and mobilisation activities; » Support activities of other core competency teams as needed and instructed by the Project Coordinator (Shelter, Education in Emergency, Livelihood & Food Security etc. Requirements» Desirable minimum 3 years of practice of project implementation in the humanitarian sector with proven practice on technical and managerial expertise; » A clear knowledge of protection issues, legal frameworks and professional standards in humanitarian and displacement contexts; » practice from working in complex and volatile contexts; » practice in emergency response activities; » Documented results related to the position's responsibilities; » Knowledge about own leadership abilities expertise/profile; » Fluency in Portuguese, English is desirable; » Fluency in a significant local language (Makonde, Emakhuwa etc.) is an asset.
